People are doing the best they can with the tools they have, given all of the stressors they are up against. My role as a therapist is to assist clients in learning new tools and dig deeper into their internal world to find and address barriers from within. It is also crucial to look at how the individual relates to the world around them, from interpersonal relationships to cultural values. I recognize and value cultural differences and strive to provide anti-racist and trauma informed care.
