I believe the therapeutic relationship serves the client to reflect on their life thus far, identify new goals and desired outcomes and take steps to achieve higher understanding of the self. We will look back at family history and life events for patterns the client may be stuck in. Together, we address the narrative the client uses to "story" their life, observing how language is used in both healthy and unhealthy ways. This allows the client to address those narratives and work to create more productive ones. I am also very passionate about the work of pre-martial/pre-engagement counseling with couples.
