I’m a psychotherapist who helps people impacted by traumatic stress. People who need a partner to help calibrate the weight of their worries. Exhausted and overwhelmed we feel so alone … industrialized cultural vacuums increase fear and shame. It can feel like no one could possibly untangle your predicament. We speak up even less or maybe become frantic with demands and urges to soothe. We doubt self even more. We get stuck on “what do I need to do” to make this stop? Counseling can lighten the burden of difficult experiences. Partnering on communication, resourcing, and education can provide some early relief.
